Electrex rectifier
I fitted the electrex rectifier today, it,s about twice the size of the Honda one. I have mounted it vertically using the old mounting position. Had to cut three cooling fins down to avoid the swinging arm, but have fitted it to an aluminium bracket which should help with heat dispersion. I,ll put a pic up soon. No one could say for sure, but we now know, if you have no spark it could be the rectifier, it should,nt be, but it was. "simples whiichk".
Re: Electrex rectifier
really glad your bike is fixed!
I didn't want mine that close to the shock so I relocated mine to the rear fender with a guard to protect from stones and mud flicked up by the rear wheel. Funny thing is that at least 2 AR owners on this site have fitted the Electrex one in the original location with no interfence!!! Would really like to know how that can be?

Re: Electrex rectifier
Hi Mark, It is a relief to get the bike going, and it really does go, it pulls like a train, It could do with another couple of gears. I,m going to count the teeth on my sprockets, Mikes suggestion, but she accelerates up to 60mph like a rocket, and I would,nt like to lose that as I don,t propose to be flying everwhere at a ton. As for the rectifier, it was a matter of setting the angle of the ali bracket just right, and taking about 6mm off of the three bottom cooling fins. I removed one of the dogbones, I had never heard of a dogbone on a bike before, the last time I removed one from a dog it bit me. I then lifted the swinging arm up as far as it would go, the rectifier may just rub right at the end of it,s travel. Now that I have sussed it, I,m more than happy to supply them to crm owners who require them. They would of course be available to site supporters free of charge, even in Uganda. Thanks for all your support during my rectifier problems, it is great to have some positive input, from all you Guys.

Re: Electrex rectifier
Update on the rectifier bracket, after a day of hard riding the bracket took a bit of a hammering, so it was back to the drawing board. Mk2 bolts to the airbox, it,s made of 3mm ali and runs pretty cool. Site supporters, if you would like one let me know and I,ll fold up a batch.
