neutral light and side stand

Post by blue_andy69 » 19 Aug 2010, 20:40

Evening all, I have a slight issue with my mk3. The neutral light does not work and the bike will not run if on its stand. I'm 99% sure these problems are linked but if so, how can I get neutral light working again? It can be a pain when im trying to let it warm up on my drive before an outing!!

Any help would be great, thanks

try and find the netrul switch ( i think it by the front sprocket / not sure ) see if any wires have come off or are earthing on some thing they should not be tuching,

the side stand switch , you could disconect it or join the wires together to make a contact or break the contact on the two wires ( not sure which way it works )

i think they are joined together in the way they work, if you put the bike in gear with the side stand down it kills the engine,

it maybe a simple fused bulb on the clocks that has broke the circit or its faulty nutrel switch or stray wire,

we know your side stand switch is working, so its the nutrel switch / bulb / wire
try the bulb and work your way back,
