Swingarm Pivot....

How easy is it to pull a non-seized swingarm pivot out to grease and fit a grease nipple?

feel like I've been neglecting the poor thing, now I've lost her and got her back I feel the urge to do some preventative maintenance! gonna try and do the wheels too.

Phil,

Its a piece of piss, lol.

You may have to dismantle the shock so that theres no load on it, otherwise it could be difficult to lign the thing back up...having said that, if you can find something to slide in as you are removing the pivot that should work ok.

HeHe..You dont know what you got till its gone ,, Respect due,,The swingarm should give you no problems.Top tip would be .\"Make shure you all the right tools for the job\"also , .Start the job on a friday night ,, cos if you do it saturday and you need a part the next day,,It aint gonna happen ,, sunday!!..While you have got the back end stripped ,, Why not put a grease nipple in the swing arm Lincage aswell.. :P

sounds like a plan, may replace the bearings anyway then...

got 3 days off coming up....

i did this mod with grease nipples, dont recommend it though 'cos couldn't pump any grease in periodically as with new seals it became air tight!!!!!!! nowhere for the grease to go

Funny, i checked mine only last week after doing it a year or so ago and the bloody thing is solid (even as i havent used the bike)
Cure - remove tank, lean bike on side, spray in plusgas over a few days then it should come out easy enough allegedly
