ride to the back of the sandpit and look for a white ten ton lorry, there will be a green rover parked near it. the rover is mine and I should be near it somewhere.

Gonna be a good night and hopefull there will be a big fire to keep us warm :D

I stayed at Toms farm in wales a few weeks ago and it was -5 :o , now thats chilly so I expect the desert to be a lot warmer, well about -1  .

How will i recognise you?? if you do come

Im the amateur rider who goes dead steady to try to stay on

White CMR with plain red stickers on back plastics, probably blue and white axo jacket, unless its warm in which case fox armour with red and white no fear mx shirt. and red n white fox 180 pants.

Also if helmet is off red head with highlights!

But the amateur rider will give it away, trust me. I really struggle on the sand, unless Im flooring it!

Hi Steve,

Would like to join in on the Saturday if I'm still allowed - the CRM has turned orange !

Another mate is looking to come too, but is a bit worried about having his van impounded - what's the true situation with plod ?

Hope you're keeping well, and not been down any icy derbyshire lanes recently !

Roger.

you are all very welcome to join us, I My car is a rover 827, green with alloys. Problem is I may have to work sat morning so may not get there til between 12am-1pm  . but I will be there.

Loads of people will be taking vans, cars and I even know of a ten ton lorry that will be there. I dont know if there will be any problems with the old bill, we are just gonna run the risk anyhow. the way it normally works is you will be told to shove off and get a warning, if you get caught again you could have stuff confiskated but I have never heard of this actually happening. In all the time I have been going to the desert I have only ever seen one police landrover there, they were just telling the ravers to turn the music down, the cops didnt even get out of it.

If you do go and are planning to spend the night try and bring some wood for the fire :P , i am sure it would be appreciated :D

p.s. I never go out in the snow anymore. still got big problems after last time

As I only live a few minutes away, have I mentioned that B4  , I quite often go up and have seen old bill on 2 occassions on lane coming off down side of rugby club. But as there are loads of ways on and off I just turned around and came off another way.

I havent heard of any one having anything confiscated either. Obviously it is a large area and I dont think a cob van would be allowed on there if they thought they would get a fine also.

Steve, which site did you hear of this bash? I hear there is a site called adrenallin something for the quad boys but cant remember the url I was given??? :?

See u all Saturday... :P

If I get chance I may well take a trip up to see you guys. My bike has been fettled for a while now as I haven't riden it for about 2 months. The last time I rode it was - funnily enough at te desert where I rode for 5 mins went over the smallest of jumps and straight into a drainage ditch. Broke both of my wrists  Out of plaster now but still in a lot of pain.

May bring my caravan if I come. What is the best way of getting in there?

Regards

Oh dear sounds painful. You will have to show us the scene if u come up so we can avoid it. :|

I always go in the same way. If you avoid the way in off of Eakring Road, runs between rugby club and golf club, its best as this is where I have seen plod a couple of times but that is always late on when im coming out.

Most people go in off of A617 and go through the depot, thats the way the cob van goes as its the best way to get cars and vans on.

Like I say I live about 2-3 mins away if everyone wants 2 meet at a set time I will meet you all and we can go from there.

Chris.

Stolen from another site :D

\"right guys there is going to be police there on this weekend 4th and 5th to monitor whats going on down there i finally got through to the police sergeant who is in charge of the desert he has told me that they are definately changeing the desert into a legitimate off road area for quaders solos and jeeps there will be several tracks made he said also he doesnt want to give anyone a warning to anyone who goes down there that they shouldnt be there but through the security on the pit site saying theyve been threatend and there landrover beeing pinched then the police wouldnt even bother with the desert as he said also it is at the very bottom of there priority list so anyone who attends will possibly get a verbal warning for being there so i suppose its up to you guys if you still all want to come.\"

I am not sure what to do now :( , I will probably still be there anyhow :?

The above message was from a well trusted source

oh dear that puts a downer on things :(

Maybe they read the same forums as us guys. But one good thing is they will have plenty of targets and they have to catch or stop u first

We wwill just have to get the number plates dirty quickly

Well let us know what you are all doing, I am up for it if you are.
