Strange cylinder head

Post by Mudfacetony » 25 Feb 2013, 18:51

This one is really for Mike, Steve and Mark (MTFB, Knk'd and Helisup),

The Mk3 with the mk2 engine in (Mrk you had this bike at one point) has a strange cyclinder head on it.A previous owner has located the autolube tank in the airbox as the plug angle is tilted over a fair way. I thought it was a mk2 head but looking at my mk2 it does not seem to be at such an angle. The main thing is the water feed from the carb onto the top of the head on th left side of the head has a cast part sticking vitically out of the head, my mk2 and mk3 heads and my spare head does not have this. Any idea what it could be off?

Can you show us a photo Tony? Preferably inside and outside just to see if it has been modified.

It is very likely to be a Mk2 head. Like this -

How can it be different from your mk2 one if its a mk2 one?

Or does it just look different at the angle youve been lookin at it on the mk3?
