Mk3 runs, lights dim then dies, with video!
I've noticed for a while now, that while out on my Mk3, sometimes the neutral light begins to dim (along with the headlight) and then returns back to normal.
Now a few weeks back, I was out on it when the engine starter running badly, misfiring and refusing to rev. As I found neutral, i noticed that the neutral light was very very dim. Then the bike died and refused to start again. No spark.
I've had the stator off, cleaned it all up, checked the resistance, all ok.
The bike will run, but only for a short while, in time with the neutral light dimming.
I made a short video, the multimeter is connected to the DC output from the reg/rec. As you can see the voltage falls off scale and the engine dies.

The reg/rec is very hot too, so this is my number 1 suspect.
