only just hits 140

help my mk2 is geting so slow it will only just do 140 and will only come up in 1st.

is it that i need to put a set of rings in or somthing else?

Hi,

140 km/h is 87mph which is by no means slow. I personally don't ever go that speed, if I wanted to i'd buy a pure road bike. With reagrds to getting the wheel up and in your case only in 1st. Whating gearing are you running? Judging by your speed maybe 13/44? I've found that wheelying is mainly down to technique. On occasions I can get mine up in 3rd but it has to be timed precisely.

its got standerd gearing at the min.
i used to run 49 rear but changed as i now have to use it for work.
but it would do 100mph when i got it with the standerd gearing when i got it adout 3 years ago.
may be its just that im used to the power now.
i had a look at the power valve and that working so that ok.
may be i should get a road bike to get to work but i love my crm and can have both

I used to be able to lift the front up on mine all the time until i wound the rear spring up to its highest position, Now its very difficult ,Even though im using 13/47 gearing,,It is all down to technique , The crm's such a beast .I you dont mind going over or comming off now and then .lifting the front end isnt that hard ,High rev's will do it for you..,I find keeping it balenced while its up there the hard bit..Theres been plenty of times ive had to jam the rear break on at the last minuit to stop myself going over..Its scary.

Yeah I'm finding the power a bit sedate now

. Been trying to get hold of a full exhaust system to get some more power. I just miss the hit of a 'proper 2 stroke' as these things can be more like 4 strokes at times with their very smooth power delivery. I can't complain because they arn't meant to be like motocross bikes,but still left wanting more power

power..Well its may be a slight setting problem with the powervalve adjustment ,,My powervalve cable broke last week and it felt like a 125cc untill i sussed it out and made a new cable ,,And when i put it all back together and made adjustments to the powervalve settings Im shure i gained some more power and a smoother ride,,So i would say setting the powervalve is very precise..Also i think putting a stronger spring on the right side powervalve cable will improve things and make things smoother ,,Im gonna put a spacer in mine just to make it stiffer ,should help with the smoothness and engine clatter??maybee ,,ill let you know
