Just Wont Start! HELP ME

Post by purdy86 » 03 Feb 2008, 15:17

Any help is help

Last time I rode the CRM was in November and it was running fine for about 4 hours then it just went dead (as if the fuel had ran out), it was drizzling so there was water around and so I just put it down to the water on the plug or so on and couldnt be bothered to get it started again as we were going anyway.
Have not been down the garage untill today.Tryed to get it going again but it still wont start. I have tryed the plug and the spark is perfect, the fuel is coming through and the 2 stoke tank is full. I have been kicking it for a good few hours now and my foot is dead.
Is there anything else, I can do, to try and get it running ?
Thanks
Gaz
By the way its a MK2

check the kill switch if it is faulty it will give a spark but not the best i had a problem like you said and after buying a new brain at considerible cost found out it was the kill switch faulty wire so check the wiring from your kill switch behind your front light make sure all the connectors are contacting properly.

Try a NEW plug as well. You say fuel is getting through but just in case give the jets a spray with some carb cleaner'specifically the pilot jet .These can all be done in situ by removing jets [needle--pilot ] or rolling carb over and removing slide body [drain carb down fully at same time= 17mm spanner underneath carb check in drain cup for crud remove main jet or spray with cleaner in situ again.

Long shot here' is the filter cleanish ie enough to allow air through.

If its got all the above =sparks + mixed fuel +compression you should be getting some life signs ie backfiring 'coughing' whatever. If not its going to be item by item elimination [not fun ] like has the timing altered ie wood-ruff key sheared ' plug cap check connection 'check everything that wont initially cost any money to fix.
