anyone changed gearbox bearings?
anyone changed gearbox bearings?
The internal bearing for the output shaft has a grove around the outside edge, the bigger bearing closest to the cog.I never noticed this before i got it out the case
,does anyone know which way it goes in?grove in first?

Re: anyone changed gearbox bearings?
i think the groove goes on the inside and there should be a little locking plate that screws in to hold it in place, Dont quote my as i havent stripped a crm engine yet but have done various engines before and this is usualy the case, jon

The grove should be on the side into the engine and not facing the casing, at least thats the way I did mine.
Ask to speak to Kevin (Stumpy) at LT. He's best for technical info on CRMs but tends not to be in during the week
