Hi all

Post by jim_CRM » 18 Nov 2008, 19:47

Hi, Im new to the forum so i thought id show you my bike.I bought it yesterday and it wasnt what i expected.I bought it thinking it would be a full going crm, turns out its a cr 250 frame with the crm loom and engine, not all bad though, heard its quite a good little project to do, lighter frame etc, draw backs are the premix ( but im already used to that with my other bikes (cr 250 and yz 250)) and the lighting. Wish whoever did put it in the frame made a better job but its on the road and looks ok on the outside.

Anyhow here's the pics. I got it home and wasted no time taking the engine out, plan is to re-spray the frame, clean everything up and re-spray certain parts, im going to put a new piston kit in it for piece of mind as it had no history and then it will be ready for its MOT. Gonna fit my cr plastic kit of my other bike to it for its mot, so it has no lights etc.Save me wiring everything up and buying brake switches etc.

Hi Jim.

Welcome - There has been a few CR/CRMs on eBay recently sold as CRMs.

I think you will find that you need a brake light and switches for your 'daylight only' MOT but others are more experienced in this area.............

Hi Jim

Welcome to the forum!
Nice CDI resray.....
Nicely modified rectifiier.....

Looks like a bit of a project to finish it properly! Still looked good from the outside!

Could you post a couple of close up pictures of your stand - I want to make one. In particular the raising mechanism.

Cheers

Mark

Thanks for the welcome.

Yeah i will get a couple of pics for you tomorrow no problem and yep, who ever put the engine into the cr frame made abit of a mess, overspray, horrible brakets, cable ties etc..but not to worrie, will all be getting sorted out. Just cracking on with the engine first.
I will either make one big project thread when its done or make an on going one, but lots of work to be going. Will keep me busy.

Thanks
Jim
