running issues

Post by andycrm250 » 26 Aug 2011, 11:29

i bought a 1992 crm250 the other week and love it but one thing that is confusing me is,

when i ride it i get roughly 10km down the road and it will cut out on me. but if i turn on the chocke and restart it and immediately turn off the choke it will run fine but will do this 2/3 times on my ride to and from work.

has any one get any ideas to what this could be before i totally strip the bike.

there was a thread posted not that long ago on here with a similar problem

have a look for it, it cant be too far from the top of the list

I assumed it was a dirty carb, or heat getting to the electrics...

but have a look at the threads, it was literally the same problem.

choke works opposite to what you might be used to - up is off.
AR's rock!!!
TwinAir filter, Braided Brake Hoses, Swingarm/Shock bearings done!, Rear Shock overhauled and customised by G-Force, 14-44 Gearing, Exhaust decoked (fun with Caustic Soda!), DEP silencer.
