fork seals

Post by Mark.S » 05 May 2013, 22:06

Hi All
I have just stripped my forks down to replace the oil seals. i haven't taken the piston out, I've cleaned them out with cab cleaner and what i have noticed is, when i tip one fork leg upside down the piston slides without any damping while the other leg seems to have some damping. Any suggestions why this might be.
This is my first attempt at this but followed some instructions on here and it went very well!

Cheers
Mark

:? I can't explain that, as far as I know both fork legs duplicate the action of the other leg. Refill with your choice of oil, and then test the action before reinstalling, with the fork in the upright position. Alter the compression adjuster to check it's working.
