Hi Mick,

Depends what you're using the bike for.

Road riding and a bit of trail: 13/42

Lots of trail: 13/45

Serious trail/enduros: 13/50

Leisure trail do sprockets and an o ring chain set for £70ish, if you go larger than 45 teeth on the rear, you need a dropper block (from LT) at £27 - or make your own.

Hope this helps,

Roger.

And dont forget :bigger sprockets = bigger chain  and if you go for a 47 tooth rear youll get away with dropping (filing downwards)the original holes and lowering the original chain guide..just

I run mine on 13/48 with DEP and reeds and find it excellent and you can still use 1st gear !!!! Leisure Trail are good but can be pricey try race spece http://www.racespec.co.uk very competitive and cheaper when you order on-line.

XR 400 sprockets will fit
