Help Carb Part Needed

Post by MarkM » 02 Aug 2004, 17:42

I am desperately looking for a part numbered 3 on the diagram of the CRM MK3 carb available in the specification section of this site. This part sits below the main jet and the carb body and believe me without this the bike runs like a bag of ****.

I have tried LT but they don't stock this part. They have supplied me a couple of numbers but again nothing. The part is about 8 mm in length with a 2mm hole drilled directly through and a collar runs around the middle.

If anyone can suggest where I can purchase this or even give me the dimensions I can get one made?

Please help as I'm desperate to ride again !!!!!!

Cheers,

Mark

It's a long shot but either try a Honda dealer who might be able to source something for you or failing that if you know the make and model of carb then go in that direction and try and contact Keihin or whoever directly instead?

Sorry mate, best I could think of to be honest although I have to ask, what happened to the old one?!

Carb Part

Post by MarkM » 03 Aug 2004, 09:23

I am trying to contact Keihin direct at present in a hope to find the part. The actual part is so simple it could be made on a lathe as long as I could find the dimension. I just need a kind CRM 250 owner with a spare 20-min to take their carb off and measure it PLEASE !!!!

As for the old one well, took the carb of to clean it to sort out a slight splutter at point A put the piece in a bag inside another bag arrived at point B opened the bag and hey presto nothing that Paul Daniel's I F'in kill him!!!!

So now I have a bike not with a splutter but a flat spot all the way through the rev cycle that can't be rode.

Thanks for the reply

Mark

OK problem solved  found one at TRM ( funny how Leisure Trial didn't point me in that direction !!!) £ 15.00  ( had it been a 34-38mm carb could have got one for £2.50) don't you just love geniune Honda parts ???? I would hate to knacker the carb.

The morrel of the story here is, what ever you take out should go back in and if it aint broken, then just leave it alone .
