Noobie time
Noobie time
Hey guys, new member to the forum just popping in to say hey and ask a couple of questions about my new-to-me 98 model CRM 250 AR.
First of all, with this being the first 2 stroke I've ever owned, what ratio of 2 stroke oil do I need to mix with unleaded? Also, what oil is the best to go for?
Secondly, the guy I bought it off reckons he's recently done the fork seals, however the front feels a little mushy, goes down a bit when I pick the bike up off the stand and doesn't spring back up like it should. Is there any way to adjust this? I'd like it to sit a little stiffer.
Cheers, hopefully this bike brings me as much joy as it has a lot of other members of this forum :)

Re: Noobie time

CRM,s unless buggered with should be autolube, which on the AR is a clear tank under the petrol tank.
The best 2t oil ?, that's likely to garner as many different oils as the number of people who comment, but, a good quality, SEMI, 2T will usually give trouble free use.
The front end on all CRM,s is just the acceptable side of woeful, but there are compression dampers, so have a twiddle prior to assuming the worst.
It's also worth having a look at the VERY, extensive search area, you will struggle to find a problem that someone has not already cured at some time.
There now, wasn't I the the very model of restrained, informative, welcome wagon driver.

I must of had a very good weekend.

I am located in a small-ish town in South Australia! Great tracks out bush around where I live, will keep me entertained.
I'm not sure what the deal with this autolube thing is, have never heard of it before, but the guy I bought it from (who didn't seem overly bright) said he used to just use premix on the bike. I'll go have a look for this 'autolube' tank when I go outside next.
Oh and where abouts will I find these compression dampers? cause I definitely wanna have a go at making it ride just that little bit more firm.
Yes perhaps I will have a little peek at this search feature, just to not warrant frustrated answers to obvious questions in the future ;)
Thanks for the info mate :)
